Exeter People’s Walk for Wildlife
Sunday December 04, 2022 11:00 am - 12:30 am
Sunday 4th December
11:00 am
Flowerpot Playing Fields, Exeter, EX4 1DH
Extinction Rebellion Exeter Biodiversity Group are hosting a People’s Walk for Wildlife. Everyone is welcome to this family friendly 5 km walk along the River Exe and through some of Exeter’s lovely greenspaces.
Wildlife and nature themed fancy dress are greatly encouraged, but entirely optional. It will be a fun day out, and a chance to get to meet other nature lovers. There will be flags, banners and leafleting, raising awareness of the ecological crisis, and environmental campaigns and organisations that people can support. You can join in with this if you wish, or just come along to enjoy the walk in nature.
At the end of the walk, we are hoping to have some speeches about wildlife and the fight to protect it, or a chance for more outreach and socialising.
Note: This is not a protest – no drums – no chants.
The Route
Assemble at Flowerpot playing fields by the Miller’s Bridge crossing at 11:00 am. Walk down the west side of the river as far as Duckes Marsh Bridge and then back up the east side of the river to the Quay.
Full route details on Google Maps.
The whole route is tarmacked footpaths and pavements, but there may be puddles, mud, and leaves, so wear sensible shoes and dress for the weather.
Note: in case of high river levels there is a diversion route for the first section.
